Mario 64 APK is a superb port of the Super Nintendo 64 platformer that was released in 1996. Now Android smartphone owners can play the classic platformer to its full potential. A lot of difficult but very interesting levels await you in this Mario game as you attempt to save the Princess from Bowser.
The game transitions from 2D Mario platformers to 3D Mario platformers, featuring a mission structure and gameplay centered around exploring a large open world instead of obstacle courses. Many of the controls and design conventions of 3D platform games were codified in Super Mario 64, which wasn't the first 3D platformer.
Plot
Princess Peach invites Mario to her castle with a special cake she has baked for him. Mario enters the castle to discover that Bowser, using 120 Power Stars, has captured the princess and her servants inside and imprisoned them within its walls. Bowser's minions keep watch over the Power Stars hidden within the castle's paintings which serve as portals to other worlds. The more Stars Mario collects, the more rooms he can access within the castle.
With the keys he obtained from defeating Bowser in hidden worlds, Mario can unlock two doors in the castle. In order to get to Bowser's final hiding place, Mario needs to get 70 out of 120 stars. Bowser escapes after Mario defeats him in the final battle, swearing revenge, and he obtains the Wing Cap after obtaining a special Power Star that gives him the privilege to fly. In addition to kissing Mario on the nose, Peach bakes him a cake that she promised him in the stained-glass window above the castle's entrance.
Controls
The interface shows the number of extra lives, health points remaining, coins collected, Power Stars collected, and camera configuration from left to right clockwise. To show the path, the camera automatically rotates in each of the three screenshots.
As the player, you control Mario through various courses in the Mario 64 APK. There is a great deal more diversity in Mario's abilities than in previous games. In addition to walking, running, jumping, crouching, crawling, climbing, swimming, and kicking, he can grab objects and punch them. With the combination of the double jump, triple jump, long jump, backflip, and wall jump, he can execute special jumps. Switch between first-person and third-person views by controlling the camera operated by a Lakitu broadcasting Mario.
Power-ups, lives, and health
The health points in Super Mario 64 are represented by an eight-segment pie shape, which is different from its predecessors. Whenever Mario loses health, he can regain it by collecting yellow coins, red coins, and blue coins, or by walking through a spinning heart. Yellow coins will restore one segment, red coins will restore two segments, and blue coins will restore five segments.
Mario's health underwater is instead determined by the duration of his breath-holding time, which diminishes slowly while underwater and replenishes when he surfaces. His extra lives are lost when he depletes his health or falls into a bottomless pit, as in previous Super Mario games. Mario's life count is zero if he loses all of them. Each of Mario's fifty yellow coins earns him a life, and extra life mushrooms, which appear in various places, such as trees, chase Mario through the air or land on the ground and disappear shortly if not collected.
