After that, my character was run through an obstacle course with a broom rather than a rifle and learned how to operate the other controls. White recruits, however, practiced with rifles in the background and paraded with flags in the foreground.
At the beginning of the game, this segment represents the entire experience. You must come to terms with each scene's context through gameplay, not cutscenes that explain background and stakes. In spite of the narrative's touching and forceful nature, it does not gloss over the complexity of its subject matter.
